SchoolPower administers the after-school enrichment program at El Morro and Top of the World elementary schools. Families can choose from a wide variety of classes at each site during our 8-week sessions. Our goal is to encourage kids to explore new areas and expand their interests, while also helping to support families’ after-school care needs.
El Morro Spring Registration begins February 2 at noon.
TOW Spring Registration begins February 3 at noon.
Spring Registration ends February 24 at 11:59 p.m.
Submit scholarship application by January 29 (to be reviewed before registration opens).
Final scholarship application deadline is February 13.

SPASE is available to elementary school students in grades 1-5.
Students enrolled in SPASE at their elementary school will be directed to their designated hour-long after-school classes following dismissal from the regular school day, Mondays through Thursdays.
Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays 2:20 – 3:20 p.m.
Wednesdays 1:20 – 2:20 p.m.
Please pack a snack for your child, as snacks are NOT provided by the instructors.
Late bus transportation to a condensed set of bus stops is available for students with district bus passes. Please refer to the district’s transportation webpage for details.
- NO late enrollees will be accepted after the registration deadlines.
- NO REFUNDS are given.
- There is limited WAITLIST enrollment.
- If your child is participating in the GATE program or referred for a support class after school, please do not register for other after-school classes on the same day. Registration instructions for GATE and support classes will be provided to eligible students by the school.
- Only students participating in Band or Strings during the school day may register for the corresponding after school Band/Strings class to practice playing on the instrument they selected. Any students, including those taking Band or Strings, may also register for Honors Chorus.
- Enrollment can be accessed via a computer, tablet or other mobile device with a consistent internet connection.
Additional Tips:
- The links to the registration portal will be published under the school sites on this page at the start of open registration.
- Please make sure you are registering for the program at the school your child attends and classes for your child’s current grade level.
- Click on the “Done” or “Selection Done” button on the Class Selection Page after you’ve selected your child’s classes before proceeding to the next step.
- Once your items are in cart, you will see a green 30 minute timer to select classes for siblings, set up your account password, and complete your transaction.
- Your registration is only complete when you see the screen with the heart. If you still see a green timer at the top of the page, you have not completed enrollment.
If a class is “Full”:
- Before registration, plan on having 2nd and 3rd choices that your child is willing to take in case your 1st choice is full. Most classes will repeat in future sessions, so you can try again another session. Please note that we do not issue refunds if you change your mind after purchase.
- Check back around 7:30 pm on the first night. The registration system automatically releases spots when the cart timer reaches 30 minutes.
Students must use the same form of transportation home at the end of after-school class as they normally would after the end of the regular school day. Only students with bus passes from the school district will be allowed to ride the late bus.

For financial assistance with classes provided as a part of SchoolPower After School Enrichment (SPASE), please fill in the scholarship request form. SchoolPower provides scholarships for the elementary after-school program to remove barriers for families facing financial challenges to pursue after school enrichment opportunities throughout the school year. We also encourage all families to explore the free classes offered each session.
On behalf of SchoolPower and Laguna Beach Unified School District, we are absolutely delighted to make SchoolPower After School Enrichment (SPASE) available to our students and are honored by the community’s enthusiastic participation. SPASE is a safe and fun opt-in program in which our students can try something new or continue to enjoy activities they already enjoy.
That being said, our students play a big part in making the program enjoyable for themselves and others.
We expect students to treat people, other people’s things and their surroundings with respect and to follow the same school rules that are enforced during the regular school day.
Participation in SPASE is a privilege, therefore, should students choose to violate school rules, they are choosing to experience one of more of the following consequences:
- Temporary loss of after school program privileges
- Parent contact
- Principal conference
- Long-term loss of after school program privileges
As parents in our community, you also have a responsibility to create a safe and fun environment for all students by enrolling your children in classes they are willing to participate in. We realize that classes sell out quickly, so it’s not always possible to enroll your children in their first choice of classes. We suggest reviewing the available options with your children before open enrollment to not only determine your children’s first choice, but also which classes they’d like to take if their first choice is unavailable.

The After School Program and the schools expect all enrolled students to attend their after school classes as scheduled.
It is disruptive when individual students enter or leave once class has begun. If you need to pick up your child early from any after school class for any reason, please have your student bring a note to your classroom teacher in the morning with plans to pick them up as part of the school day dismissal at 2:15 p.m. (1:15 p.m. on Wednesdays) before the after school class begins.
If your student cannot consistently participate in a class for the entire session, please do not register for the class. If you have a change in your schedule that conflicts with an after school class, you may withdraw from the class by sending an email notification to afterschool@lbschoolpower.org. SchoolPower will not issue refunds for withdrawals from fee-based classes.
Please be aware that the school may elect to drop your student out of a free-of-charge after school class for multiple unexcused absences. Your student may also lose the privilege of enrolling in free-of-charge after school classes for the rest of the school year if your student has unexcused absences in more than one after school class.

Creating an account should take only a few minutes, and you only have to do this once. Make sure to add each child as a participant under “New Account Setup”. Once you have an account with your email address and password, you simply need to sign into your account for after school registrations – you do not need to pre-register your child in future sessions.

Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach
LBUSD offers an expanded learning programming for students in grades TK-6 in partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of Laguna Beach. Students have the opportunity to participate in after-school enrichment and social-emotional learning activities, interest-based clubs, and homework support sessions. The LBUSD Expanded Learning Program also includes a full-day camp at the Boys and Girls Club during school breaks. Transportation is available to the Laguna Canyon Clubhouse from El Morro, Top of the World, and Thurston Middle School. Financial assistance is available to those who qualify.
Summer LEAD Program
The mission of LEAD is to give students in LBUSD the opportunity to learn, enrich, advance, and discover by exploring a new interest or passion. LEAD courses are open to all students who are enrolled in LBUSD during the 2025-26 academic year and are continuing enrollment in 2026-27, at no cost to families.
