SchoolPower Supporters Gather For Sixth Annual Three Clubs Barefoot Golf Tournament

Monday, May 9, marked the sixth annual Three Clubs Barefoot Canyon Classic at The Ranch at Laguna Beach, benefiting SchoolPower. The event sold out in record speed and grossed over $65,000 to support Laguna Beach students through SchoolPower. Eighty-eight barefoot golfers kicked off the afternoon’s festivities with a friendly nine-hole, four- or five-person scramble competition. As in past years, players tackled some nontraditional shots, including teeing off while wearing oven mitts and and shooting the ball with a pool cue. Monday, May 10, marked the fifth annual Three Clubs Barefoot Canyon Classic at The Ranch at Laguna Beach, benefiting SchoolPower. The event sold out in record speed and generated over $45,000 to support Laguna Beach students through SchoolPower. Eighty barefoot golfers kicked off the afternoon’s festivities with a friendly nine-hole, four-person scramble competition. SchoolPower’s “Shine” is a Dazzling Success for Laguna Beach Schools

SchoolPower, Laguna Beach’s Education Foundation, hosted its 35th Annual Dinner Dance Shine on February 8 at Montage Laguna Beach. Chaired by Tim Bina and Gorjana Reidel, the event grossed over $350,000 for Laguna Beach schools. After a festive cocktail reception, SchoolPower President Allison Motherway welcomed over 300 guests in the ballroom under a canopy of lights. Hundreds Turn Out for SchoolPower’s Dodgeball X

More than 380 costumed players on 50 teams ducked, dived and dodged balls at LBHS on October 16 for SchoolPower’s 10th annual Dodgeball Tournament. Each champion team won $500 in prize money to designate to a teacher or school program of their choice. Fund-a-Need Update: Navigating the Information Age

This fall, LBUSD hired a Digital Media and Library Specialist and two part-time teacher coaches to improve digital literacy and bring coding and computer science to our classrooms. Teachers Brian Kull and Carrie Denton have been active in the elementary classrooms, exposing kids to the basics of coding through hands-on activities as well as a block-based language that teaches the logic and foundations of Python. Lumberyard Chef Challenge Dishes Up a Decade of Support For SchoolPower
